Project: Children & Family Services - South bend, IN
Soils Engineer: Weaver, Boos & Gordon
Project Engineer: James CHild & Associates
General Contractor: Brown Construction, Inc.
Problem: A bridge has been donated to the organization. Expenses needed to be low to transport, set & stabilize bridge. Terrain was not conducive to the heavy machinery. Soils report show fill & loose material to 30 feet. Load requirement for bridge & surcharge loads high based on code regulations.
Solution: Helical anchors installed by 3-D Concrete Correction, Inc. Both horizontally into hillside and vertically. Exact locations of anchors needed for existing bridge and existing concrete walkways. Depth of helicals to pass fill soils.
Result: Helical anchors placed within 2" of special locations well within safety factor of the concrete foundation wall encasing the anchors.
